I Promised to Cover My Co-Worker’s Shift but Let Him Down

I feel really bad about what happened. I promised my co-worker that I would cover his shift, but when the time came, I didn’t show up as I had agreed.

I know he was relying on me, and I realize that my decision may have caused him unnecessary stress or put him in a difficult situation at work. I should have kept my word, or at the very least, told him as soon as I knew I couldn’t make it.

Looking back, I understand that making a promise at work comes with responsibility. I regret letting him down, especially because he trusted me to be there for him.

I’m sincerely sorry. I hope he can forgive me, and I want him to know that I take responsibility for my actions. I’ll do my best to be more dependable and communicate properly in the future.
