What does forgiveness really mean to you

I’ve been thinking a lot about forgiveness and how different people define it. For some, it’s “forgetting.” For others, it’s “letting go but remembering.” Personally, I think forgiveness is more about freeing yourself than excusing what happened.
Curious what does forgiveness mean to you? Do you think it’s always possible
